Title: Latest recording w RealDrums & Acoustic Bass
Post by: 2010jazz on June 25, 2008, 06:08:43 PM
I've been far too busy to do much music lately, plus I've been too frustrated with trying to get my JABB upgrade to K2 working w BiaB -esp w Mike's special tweaks. I finaly got JABB K2 working without Mike's scripts, but then the RealDrums refused to work. The solution turned out to be switching back from ASIO for the JABB K2, to MME for the RealDrums. I can't figure why such simple help is not printed anywhere that is easy to find...Still can't get any sound with Mike's script version.

In any case I found the bass and percussion of the RealDrums etc. to be especially good for this jazz waltz arrangement of this PG demo song.  What do you think?

Dan

P.S.  I used the free TigoTago Media Files Tag editor software for tagging this song file (Windows). It's really very, very handy (requires NetFrame 1.1 or 2.0).

This is super and definitely a keeper!

Very nice arrangement.

FYI – BiaB with just one midi out is a real pain to use.  I strongly suggest purchasing a sequencer for any real serious type of work.  You will not be limited that way.  If you need more info just PM me.

Very realistic sounds and good works with arrangement as well. (I think the 2 things are strongly related)

Cheers

Thanks Guys for the nice words.

I've been having a fight w my music computer (lost video for no reason), but I finally won out, and uploaded some new pieces also w RealDrums and some w JABB doing the accompaniment. I never did get Mike's scripts version going, but the raw JABB sounds ok with certain styles.

I uploaded a few more pieces.

(I don't know how to link to my kara-moon page any other way).

One of these days I'll start messing with one of my sequencers again.

If you want to link to a SONG of your artist page, here is how to it :
On your page, under the songs click on the button 'Show song info'*
You'll see the full info of the song and the last line will be the actual link of the song.
Just highlight that URL and copy it, then you can paste the link here in your post.
Hope this helps

Cool music you have !

Very nice Dan.
Yeah, the tech side of things can be annoying, but I'm glad you've got the ASIO MME solution down.

I used to play trumpet in the Walter Mitty Jazz Band in Chicago.  We gigged every other Friday or Saturday at a place down in Oak Park. A 2 story joint.  Wonder how many degrees of seperation there are there.. I knew a couple fine clarinetists and trombonists back then.  Wish I could remember names now.  The drummer I remember because we played in a couple different bands together.  His name was Mark Summers.

I'll never forget the time I convinced them all to go see JeanLuc Ponty at that outdoor place up by Highland Park (name of that escapes me too..meadowbrook?)

They were just in awe all evening. Every one of 'em.
