Would anyone be interested in the instrument patches I've created for Zyn. ?
If so where would be the best place to put them?
There are about 60 of them ranging from soft, smooth pads to extreme chromatic percussive sounds and overdrive effects.
I keep a copy zipped (so they can be read by all platforms) on my own website so can easily transfer them.

I would certainly like to have them, Zyn is together with Crystal one of best soft synth's in the world IMHO How big is the zip file ?
If it is to big for upload I'll ask Moon to give you ftp access

It really compresses very small, about 150k, so I'll just attach it here.
I don't know where the banks are put on windows versions, but in Linux all you need to do is unzip and copy the entire directory into your user banks directory.

I'm pleased to hear that. I'd very much like to hear your opinion on them. Incidentally in my recent posting 'Lost' only the Reed harmony in the 3rd verse does NOT use an instrument from this collection

I know that I'm sometimes VERY,VERY slow but I rarely forget something... I have a problem with those instrument on my linux configuration, the instruments don't work. Here is what I did : created a directory Folderol in my banks directory unzipped all instruments in that directory now in zyn, they show up as a separate bank 'folderol', which is good. But when i load an instrument the sound isn't loaded ? to investigate what was happening, i choosed 'load instrument' and there i got the error 'could not load instrument' on every file of you ? works fine with other instrument files.... any ideas ? k

That is a great synth, and someday I'm going to learn how to use it ...cya, Oren. (Kara, I tried to implement the infamous Folderol instruments a few months ago with no success. I'm going to need a "Folderol for Dummies" step-by-step instructional to get those beauties installed correctly )

@kara I think you may have 'over' unzipped. If you put the zip file through whatever archive program you are using you should end up with a directory called 'Collection' inside that are all the files in compressed form. They should stay compressed as Zyn uncompresses them 'on-the-fly'. If in doubt unzip the file from a terminal window simply using: unzip {filename} Rename the whole folder to what you want then drag/copy it into your Zyn. banks folder. Restarting Zyn. should make them accessible @Oren I didn't realise you had trouble with them as well I shall re-check the file isn't borked.

Damn Colonials! OK. I just downloaded and checked the file. It seems OK but is quite a bit out of date. Here is the latest one. @LR Please try it do. It has its annoyances but produces some most beautiful sounds.

Ladies and Gentlemen I need some help here. I Dled the Windows version of ZynAddSubFX, at least I think it’s the Win version, uncompressed it and ran the launch_zynaddsybfx.bat file. Of course it come back saying there is no zynaddsybfx.exe file and there isn’t one. There is no win executable file in the DL.
Does this still work with Windows XP? Did I get the right DL? Is anyone using this in XP? Is there a secret to this?
Thanx in advance for your time - MarioD
