Title: Museum Intrepid
Post by: elwoodblues1969 on September 30, 2012, 12:00:10 AM
Took a small road trip to the Museum Intrepid in NYC,which is a sea,air & space complex. This museum is name after the USS Intrepid,an aircraft carrier built in 1943 and served two tours of duty through World War 2 and Vietnam.

The Intrepid is divided up into 3 sections, which are the Exploreum Interactive Hall, the Hangar Deck and the Flight Deck where various aircraft are displayed...as well as the Space Shuttle Enterprise, which is housed in the Space Shuttle Pavilion.

Some of the aircraft that you'll see in my photos, are the British Airways Concorde,A-48 Skyhawk,Sikorsky Sea Guardian,A-12 Blackbird,Bell AH-1 Cobra...as well as a few others.

The Enterprise,is the prototype space shuttle that was built in 1976 and as you might have guessed, there is a video in the Space Shuttle Pavilion, that showcases the history behind it and is narrated by Leonard Nimoy!  :D
