Been missing .... yes, I know ... apologies
Life is hectic building up to daughter's wedding on 23rd.
Apart from all the arrangements to make I am still frantically trying to get my soft finger-tips into shape to be able to perform up to a dozen songs in public for the first time in 40 years
Anyway .... as part of that 'constructive therapy' I have made a song for this month where the theme is to be inspired by a supplied photograph.
The Girl.
The girl in the photograph I took that day
Was frightened to see I was going away
She stood there and hid her face behind her hand
Then suddenly turned and ran off down the sand.
But it wasn’t the last time for us
As I took my seat on that bus
I knew as I went on my way
That we’d be together one day.
We had been best of friends since we were in school
What I did not know then was that I was the fool
To be going away for so long, and so far
That she waited was all down to my lucky star.
But it wasn’t the last time for us
As I took my seat on that bus
I knew as I went on my way
That we’d be together one day.
As I travelled the country just making my way
I looked at that photograph every day
When I earned enough, maybe, to give her a life
I’d return to that picture and make her my wife.
But it wasn’t the last time for us
As I took my seat on that bus
I knew as I went on my way
That we’d be together one day.Ibanez AEL20 acoustic guitar,
