Title: Rico & Angelina
Post by: elwoodblues1969 on December 16, 2008, 05:45:15 AM
I had posted this one before..long ago,but I decided to re-work it & clean it up a bit.
This is one of my all time favorites from Jan Hammer. :)

And oldie but goodie  ;D
I used to play this live on a Casio keyboard, hmm.. what was 20 agoo  :o

Your version certainly sound better now  8)
Excelent bending on that melody, not easy to get those right, well done !

I agree with you, it's one of the better songs of Hammer.

Nice! I really like the melody instrument.

If you were looking to tweak, I'd think about dropping the percussion levels a bit. They sound good, but tend to step on the quieter components.

Good choice of material.

Kara,

I think that it's ultra-cool that you know this song...very few know this song, because it was only on the show,as it never made it on Jan Hammer's album! :D

Thanks for the nice review! 8)

Oren,

It's interesting that you find the percussion to be a bit too loud,as I found the percussion to be a bit too low on my previous rendition.
To my ears,it sounds perfectly balanced-especially so,since percussion is a very defining element in Jan Hammer's music.
I actually did not raise the volume of the track per say,but rather,I made some EQ adjustments to bring out the percussion track to where I think it needed to be.
Your input is appreciated as always & thanks for the comments! :)

I remember you did a serie of Jan Hammer tracks in the past.
It's a simple song but sounds great, nice touch

Cheers
