Yesterday we had the Music Industry Awards in Belgium. One of the great winners was Absynth Minded. These guys are great. They combine poetry with different styles of music. They make 'honest' but great music.

This is actually a poem of Hugo Claus, one of Belgium's greatest writers, translated and converted in a great song. When I listen to this, I'm proud to be Belgian especially since these guys "zijn echte west-vlamingen" !

One thing that amazes me is how close these guys sound in a live performance. Real musicians indeed!

Very good indeed. In fact I think the live recording is clearer than the 'official' version!
Had a listen to some of their other work - they handle a wide range of material with equal ability.
