MMA 1.6c -- let's see what's broken!

Okay, here it is!

As discussed earlier on the forum there's a lot new here. I hope I've not broken anything and there are not too many bugs! I have tried it on my files and it seems to be working great.

Major things include:

  - Solo notation can specify note durations with MIDI ticks, Accent individual notes, volume setting for individual notes, <OFFSET> option for jumping in solo lines.

  - More harmony options.

  - MidiInc can push or Riff-ize its input into a Solo track. This then gets evaluated like hand entered data. So, you can play a solo on a keyboard, record it, import into MMA and change the voicing, articulation, harmony, etc. A report option in MidiInc helps you figure out tracks and offsets. All very cool! There is a tutorial file in egs/midi-inc showing how it works.

  - DupRiff: lets you copy riff data between tracks. Very useful in copying a solo into a harmonyonly track. More uses? Let me know!

Okay, I win First bug in the new solo code.

In patSolo.py line 477 you can change:

   a = a[i:]

to

  a = a[i:].strip()

So that you can have whitespace between the duration and accent.

I'm not putting a new package up right now, so if you want to use note accents, please patch.

A few minor fixes.

I'd like this version to be 1.7 if no other bugs are found or pressing new items come up. Let me know!
