Title: My New Song
Post by: MarioD on January 24, 2010, 01:41:23 AM
Another Friday night with nothing to do, but now that both of my hands are heeled enough to play again (that is another story) I thought I would try to play what ever came to mind.

So here is my latest quick and dirty song called “My New Song”!  Now how original is that ;)

I hope you enjoy it and will comment on it.  Constructive criticism is welcomed.

Mario,

The chord progressions & bass line are interesting enough-but to my ears, the other melodies are running very wild & need to be tamed & re-worked a bit.
The song is overly saturated with reverb effects & I think you could back off on the reverb on a couple of tracks.
There is some clear & present distortion also,so I think reducing the volume on the guitar tracks & even more so on the lead sounds would eleviate this problem.

Cool tune, nice mix, nice choice of instrument sounds!

If I were king of the world, I'd adjust the rhythm guitar tone to remove some of the upper-mid frequencies. It sounds a little harsh and "jangly" to my ears. Smooth playing, however - I know how difficult a strummed electric guitar can be to get a cohesive performance.

Now where did I put those thumbs... :D
