Sometimes one is way too close to the trees
I just found an unexpected side effect from the extended groove notation: It works very nicely with the -V notation.
Suppose I'm working on a new library file. I have the file "newstuff.mma" and a groove in that called "simple". And, the file is in my current directory (and I've not moved it to the lib tree). I can now do:
mma -V tempo=80 Keysig=Eb ./newstuff:simple
and, the test file is created and played. Cool. Saves a lot of time.
Oh, and it's fine to skip the "./" in the filename. You just get some extra verbiage from mma.
Now, I need to update the docs
