Title: Comfort Zone Post by: folderol on February 19, 2017, 04:55:16 PM After too many late night coding sessions I needed a break, so decided to play one of my old favourites, only to my horror, discovered I could no longer play it - nor any of my other older compositions I used to be able to just rattle off one after another. I decided that no matter what, I was going to play at least one of these every day until I got them right.
That was in January. Today I was able to play through three of them (almost) without error, and to give myself a little reward I then just played whatever came to mind. This is the result :) I hope you'll enjoy Genesis Title: Re: Comfort Zone Post by: bvdp on February 19, 2017, 06:57:12 PM This is a nice number. Very powerful chord sequences.
It might benefit from a bridge with some faster notes? Not sure about that ... just a thought. Care to share what happened to the old stuff? Bit rot? Title: Re: Comfort Zone Post by: folderol on February 20, 2017, 05:44:42 PM Thanks, much appreciated.
The bit-rot was in my head ::) By playing older pieces, I mean sticking both hands on the keys, only I think someone must have jumbled them all up :P Title: Re: Comfort Zone Post by: bvdp on February 20, 2017, 09:03:00 PM Oh. I misunderstood when I read the original message. I thought you meant that recorded stuff wasn't playable anymore :)
I understand about jumbled keys. I do wish that whoever was doing that would stop! Title: Re: Comfort Zone Post by: elwoodblues91 on February 20, 2017, 11:06:24 PM Very enjoyable, indeed! Some very tasty chord progressions and wonderfully dramatic...lovely stuff! 8)

Title: Re: Comfort Zone Post by: MarioD on February 23, 2017, 03:33:48 PM Will, this is a beautiful piece of music. Great chord progression.
Don't feel bad as my old arthritic hands can't play half of what they used to be able to play. Title: Re: Comfort Zone Post by: folderol on February 24, 2017, 02:55:05 PM Thanks Mario. Hopefully, getting in more practice will help offset the {cough} maturing {cough} process a bit.
