Life is getting in the way of my music so I don’t have a lot of time to practice and the EWI-USB wind controller is a monster to master, the octave shift rollers are driving me nuts, so I’m still trying to play slow easy stuff. This one is a simple blues jam practice session where I’m concentrating on the EWI first and my bass playing second.
Constructive criticism is welcomed. Thanx

Hi Mario You made big progress, it sounds like a wind instrument player Stick to it As Azell plays a WX windcontroller and i sometimes 'blow' on it, I know how hard it is to play those. Have fun k

Sounds to me like somebody learning to play the sax... but somebody who has already got the tone of the instrument down to a fine art. Reed instruments tend to make me cringe, unless handled by a seasoned player. No cringing here...

Mario, Super smooth performance...indistinguishable from the real thing! 8)I'm wondering though,if it's that hard to master, wouldn't it be easier to learn a real sax then? -Thom

Well I didn't know what to expect from your introduction but this really blew me away. Excellent stuff. You've managed to put real, character into the 'instrument'. That is no mean feat my friend At least two thumbs up. {thinks} Go on, off you go, into that nice cosy 'keep' folder.

Thanx all for listening and the very kind comments. Kara- Thanx for calling me a wind instrument player! I’m not there yet but I am going to master this thing. Oren – Thanx for not cringing I’m not a seasoned player yet, unless of course you mean having a couple of Buds prior to playing makes me seasoned Thom – yes this is hard to master, however no harder than learning any other new instrument. The advantage of learning a wind controller is that I can play the same instrument but have it sound like a sax, trumpet, French horn etc. It’s also very good for adding swells to strings and such. Will – thank you for the very kind words. I am trying to put “feeling” into the instrument. That is something I can not do with my guitar midi controller when it comes to horn parts.

Soulfully excellent, Mario! I used to play clarinet and sax, and to my ears you have a real feel for the instrument. There is something about the breath that is especially expressive. Keep up the good work. Wyatt

Thanx Wyatt.
It’s comforting to know that a real reed player thinks this sounds real. It give me confidence to move on. Thanx

Thanx Kuguar, My only secret is this http://www.akaipro.com/ewiusbThe sax sound came from the included software. I used the trumpet-fingering mode. It is going to take me a long time to master this beast but one can obtain very realistic sax sounds from it. I’m just a beginner.

The EWI-USB costs $299 USD. You might look at Mr Sax http://www.samplemodeling.com/en/products_sax.phpThis sounds excellent and costs 119 EUR. I’m thinking about getting this for my system.

Hi Mario I'm writing some improv's at the moment for a keyboard player. I've done a small one but once done wondered about something, if a windplayer would have enough breath to play this ? Azell plays it, but she is realy no reference... she plays since 25 years, doesn't smoke and plays about everything Could you give this a try for me. Attach is the sheet for the lead and a small ogg to give you an idea how it should sound I welcome all remarks k
