Well ....
The piece that I have chosen to 're-do' was from January contest which was about 'new beginnings'.
If you recall I did a piece using ONLY soft-synths ... no real instruments  Shocked
http://www.kara-moon.com/forum/index.php?topic=5485.0

This time I have re-made the whole thing from scratch. Changed the key to fit what's left of my voice. Changed the tempo from 90 to 120, thus getting 4 sections into the space of 3. Played all the parts live and made it into a rock song  Cool

I got drums from Jamstix, Westfield P-bass, Adam Black F5 acoustic, Adam Black Hydra electric and Epiphone Les Paul Special.
Guitar sounds courtesy of Greenmachine VST.

Great fun was had  wOO

Well, here is what I (haven't yet) said over there Smiley

"I liked the original the first time round, and still do although there is a little stiffness to the presentation.

New version is quite different. Although the basic melody is the same absolutely nothing else is. It's instantly obvious you are far more comfortable with the instruments, although I think you nearly lose it with the later part of the dist. guitar solo. Good song"

If you have a poem, I have a tune, and we exchange these, we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.

You're probably right on this, young man .....

Having a bit of a 'bad time' round here at the moment, this turned into one of those 'cathartic' sessions where everything was a single take with no edits ..... really just to get things out my system  Roll Eyes
call it musical dysentery, if you like Lips Sealed

Cheesy But .... I think it may have done some good  wOO

First, I hope your “bad times” are becoming better times!  I feel for you, as we are having some “bad times” around here also, not to us personally but to close family members and friends.

Second, I really like this song. “Very good guitar and bass chops my friend,” says the man from across the pond! Very good!

I really like one take parts.  You may get an oops or two but the feel is much better.  That’s what this has, that live feeling.

GREAT JOB James.

Well, ain't that the point...?

The principal value of music is (in my opinion) its emotional value, both to composer and audience. This one scores high...
