Hey, Hope to be back soon to participate here as the wedding is now over (apart from picking up the pieces afterwards) All went perfectly. After a week of horrendous weather we were lucky to catch a brief dry spot for the duration of the proceedings. It all took place at a local open-air 'living history' museum near us http://www.beamish.org.uk/ so most of us were dressed the part in Edwardian costume. The musical section, in the evening, which I have been rehearsing went quite well. It was a rather large room with over 50 people in it but the acoustics were pretty good. We had no amplification or microphones but it seemed to carry well enough. Three songs with the bridesmaid and three tunes with the bride. Someone managed a video so I've posted one of each to YouTube. Unfortunately the first has been hit with a copyright notice so grab it while it is there http://youtu.be/AnTW_3cNC80The next is my lovely daughter, the bride, with her debut public performance. http://youtu.be/kAJfds1g490 James

A treat, Mr. F.! I particularly enjoy the whistle. The way you manipulate your picking hand is an education in itself - that Ibanez really shines when you get digging in...

Thanks for looking, guys. My daughter is SOOOOO good on that whistle. She puts me to shame, but it is so seldom that I can get together with her to create anything. I was so pleased that we managed to get it together for this occasion. As for the Ibanez ... that AEL20 model is publicised by the company as "having the biggest body of any of their range which can comfortably fill any room". I think they are right James

Still under a lot of pressure at the moment, but I am so glad I found time to look in here today.
Thanks for the fantastic pictures, and those vid links. What a player your girl is! I absolutely love it when family members can get together like that - and on her wedding day too. What an amazingly special occasion that I'm sure you will all have fond memories of for many years.

Will, glad you could find time to check in on this. I may be able to produce another couple of videos, if anyone is interested? James

James, that was fantastic. Not only is your daughter very beautiful (she must take after her mother , running for cover ) but she is also very talented music wise (that I know she got from you). Thanx for sharing such a touching moment!

Thanks for looking and the comments, Mario. You are right, of course, about the looks (and the brains) from mother I have the last of this video session ready. Another song from Charlene, the bridesmaid. Quite a bit of background noise spoiling this one. I'm afraid. And another from Lilah, the bride. This is a 'set' of two Irish tunes which are amongst her favourites. As a point of interest, a couple of sweeps over the audience settle on the same group comprising Mother, sister and new husband who was not aware that she intended performing. Quite a surprise for him http://youtu.be/HYoe7_8MKmshttp://youtu.be/0wNyBw2ZKPs James

Schweet! I'm amazed at how the whistle and guitar, unamplified, can take over the room...
