Seems like I'm in a piano mood these days  Wink

So here's a piano instrumental (with bass and drums towards the end): I was thinking to turn it into a proper song, with vocals, but I don't know if I'll be able to sing it - and I haven't got lyrics.

Let me know if it works in this form: isn't it to boring?

All your thoughts are appreciated!

Frederik

A good piano song is never boring for me
That piano sounds a lot as an (older) yamaha electric piano

Having said this it al depends where you take the song, but the chord progression is pretty interesting.

PS : We should meet someday when I'm in Belgium, that's where you are isn't it ?

Good tune and some very high quality playing.

Fred,

The word boring does not leap to mind here at all......in fact, this is beautiful! That being said,I think you should seriously consider losing the drums,as it does not seem to fit, whatsoever.

An elegant performance here....I think I shall call you Freddy Fingers from now on. Grin

Frederik, this is one beautiful song.  I hope you get into a piano mood more as you certainly know how to play the instrument!

I agree with Thom that the drums are not needed.  I will also say neither is the bass.

This is one great piano piece!

This is actually quite impressive, very well done,Frederik...your piano chops are remarkable to say the least.
Yes,the drums and bass are not needed plus, they come in too late in the song anyways.I would love to hear however, voices(choir) and maybe some double bass with some cymbal accents in the right places.
I can try a few different things if you're interested
Cheers

Thanks for all the replies.

I already made a version without bass and drums, because everybody agreed they weren't any good  Grin
I rendered it with another piano sound, more direct. I think it sounds better. I will try to upload this version to let you judge.

@ Kara: yep, I'm still in Belgium. Living near Leuven, working In Brussels. So if you ever pass near those we could meet  Wink

@Isle3music: I would be pleased if you'd have a go at it. If you want I can send you the piano solo version as wave.

 Shocked Shocked Shocked

I'm afraid that I haven't had much time around here of late .... it's amazing how much I have missed  Embarrassed

This piece is absolutely superb.  wOO

More to the point ... it is right in my (very limited) vocal range and I may have the germ of an idea for a song based on your title.

If you are patient I may be able to come up with something, reasonably soon  Roll Eyes

It truly would be an honour to be able to work with you  Kiss

Thanks for the kind words James!

I happen to be a very patient guy, you know  Grin
So you can have a go at it any time!

Here's a wave file version (rendered with a less verby piano sound) I made for our dear friend Rui:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/5enguw

That's better to work with.
I'd be pleased to hear any kind of result  Smiley

This is very beautiful frederik!

A very well-written composition and your playing is very good too.
I wouldn't say this is boring at all,

Peter
