Thanks.

I'll probably get his 3 tracks this week so I can mix it properly.

The last mix was overcompressed. I fixed that now although some of you might think it's still too much.

Hi Talvin
No, I'm getting used to nowdays' standars of compression and it doesn't seems to much to me.
you can ear it just a tiny bit 'squashed' when the overall sound pressure rises. For example the chorus : 1.03 - 1.30
great mix btw  Cool

Cheers

I had a quick listen and my first though was that it sounded 'clearer' but I couldn't think why... that explains it!

Had some time to listen now, Talvin.

I'm not really bothered by the compression in this mix. What I don't particular like about it is the sound of the high-hat, ride and cymbals which I think are way too present. If you would tame that area of the drummix the whole mix would benefit I think. These three parts also seem to be competing in the same frequency area as the guitars and some of the vocals. I think there's some room for improvement there Wink

Still a very good song. Cool

I only have an audio drum file. Do you think you can tame the hihats by applying some eq?

Yes that's possible. But it will affect the sound of the snare as well. A matter of compromise then.

Thanks Kara. I still think the last mix was crap so I had another go at it. This one is definitely better I think. I'd be happy if some of you could have another listen.
