Title: Weird production Post by: Laguna Rising on February 12, 2008, 09:05:18 PM ??? Difficult one, this month....doing a cover of another KVR member! I agree 100 % with James and I had my troubles making mine... :-\ This is the result : Major boring (http://www.laguna-rising.com/Music/0802_LagunaRising_MajorBoring.mp3) the original song was composed by Markleford on October 2007 it's has the same chords and similar melody but I play a couple of bars with guitar and make it more noisy and added the eccentric melody at the end there's even an attempt to achieve a glitchy drum sound... ::) Cheers Title: Re: Weird production Post by: elwoodblues1969 on February 13, 2008, 12:02:05 AM L.R.,
Wow...this is a very unique arrangment & I am dazzled by the choice & array of interesting sounds-& the clarity of it all is magnifique! May I ask where all the sound effects & synth sounds came from? Thom Title: Re: Weird production Post by: kara on February 13, 2008, 12:53:31 PM This is the style I like from you LR 8)
Good luck with the contest and don't forget ours... k Title: Re: Weird production Post by: Laguna Rising on February 13, 2008, 07:53:55 PM May I ask where all the sound effects & synth sounds came from? I used many freebies: StringZ2 and Rez for the pads, Element of surprise for the electronic-sitar-like sound up front. String theory for the bass (it's like a 'taurus' very low in the mix), Rez for the the lead in background at 1.04 - 1.19 Dr. Fusion for the drums. the glitchy effects and panned-echoes comes from Nuclear cranium and Truc. the final melody is built with all the above but different presets. I played a couple of notes with my guitar Good luck with the contest and don't forget ours... Thanks ! ;D no ! never Cheers Title: Re: Weird production Post by: Oren on February 16, 2008, 10:05:28 AM Another walk on the wild side, courtesy of Laguna Rising. ;D

...of course a lot of technology and sound mangling was required to achieve this weirdness... ::) |
