Title: Google Earth
Post by: elwoodblues1969 on July 24, 2008, 03:06:01 AM
A friend of mine turned me onto this website and I became fascinated with it. :-

I think this website is a fantastic way to showcase & share all of our locations on the planet-this is just too cool! 8)

Hey, Thom,

Nice digs!

I wonder if the architect intended to design it in the shape of a Celtic cross...?

Oren,

I guess I'll just have to go down to the county recorder's office & get the blueprints
to find out that one. ;D

Nice clear pic.

Unfortunately I don't accept Google's T&C but here is a (not so high res) pic of my place. The blue dot is on the roof of my house :)

This image was made about 6 years ago. The light brown area behind my back garden is where the hospital used to be, and is now unfortunately very high density housing. We have all had to let our hedges grow to about 12ft to regain our privacy :(

Will,

T&C?Is this a compatibility issue or preference issue?Perhaps there are other better alternative websites for this kind of thing...I would very much like to see your garden in detail.

This is mine.
The arrow points to my house. The roof window is my studio.

My sticking point is that Google reserve the right for the software to automatically download updates without your agreement or even notification.

No software gets on my machine without my full and direct agreement.

Hey Andreas. I'm jealous :P

That's a nicely laid out place - lots of room between the houses.

Looks like that there's some really interesting forest right on your doorstep too 8)

I'm afraid I can't get this at all :( I get some error message in a foreign language. I'm not entirely surprised, this is taken from a Microsoft site, and my browser proudly identifies itself as Firefox running on Linux >:D

So you're right on the edge of farmland. Interesting how many people on here seem to have countryside very near to them. I wonder if there is any significance to that.

Yep I live in a very small place (1.900 people) in the middle of a farmland region.
I could never live in a big city I think, I need the clean air  ;D

Here is our little spread.

We live a few miles from a city with 1400 people..surrounded by farmland..
..I could never live in a city..I need space.

Dang ..this is sounding familiar.  ;D

Looks very peaceful Wyatt....like a great place to raise a family...the only immediate family I have are my two cats, but I'm sure they would love the freedom to roam around on a spread like that!! ;D

It's really nice to see where most everyone lives on this forum,as it provides a more tangible sense of community here. :)
