Beautiful song. But I think that if you really want you also can write such music.

Once again, the vocals are the high point of this experience. Sterling performance, and very effectively produced. Even with all that synth gear you have to work with Thom , it's your voice that sets you apart.

I've never heard this before, so I have nothing to compare against. It is a very evocative song, due in no small part to your production.

Hey Thom you're very prolific You're throwing at us songs in abundance and I must say the quality's rather high I wasn't aware of the existence of Xymox but I found the original here : http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=tMfQIzrDvk4 and then I went ahead browsing others videos Interesting cover, very good stuff Cheers

Thom's version is superior to the original in every way (to my ear)

Will, Xymox came to my attention from a friend,as he had come across an article in a magazine that gave Xymox's album a exceptional review,so he bought the cd in '90 & I have been in love with them ever since. Thanks for your kind compliments, Thom

L.R., I actually had this particular song already recorded in an old CF file,so I just decided to remix it,re-route the effects, add some finishing touches & then of course, add the vocals & presto-a complete song...not really all that prolific as you had thought. Bear in mind also, that I am a keyboard workstation guy,so things move along a bit faster than someone who makes songs with live instruments. Believe me,if I had to work with live instruments,it would take alot longer! Thanks alot for your compliments, Thom

Oren,
Your way too kind friend, but I appreciate it. :)Actually,as I see it,the only real advantage that I have over Xymox,is that they used an old Korg M1(which was a great recording tool, but the sound quality was horrible, compared to my Korg Triton Extreme).
Thanks,
Thom

Hey thom, another first class piece of work, my man! With your grasp on the instrumentation and vocals you should really try to write original stuff. I only started writing with the challenge of the contests. When someone else gives you a theme it is often easier as it gives a focus to start with. Try it....you might surprise yourself! James

James, Thanks for your compliments. As for writing my own song with vocals, the thought has indeed, crossed my mind, but I just have'nt got around to it as of yet...appreciate the encouragement. Thom

I agree. You have a super vox and complete control over your sounds. You always pick what sounds best! Now just pick a chord progression, add your own lyrics and let things fall where they will. We know it will be good! I’ve never heard this before but this is super. I’ll hit youtube later today. It’s a keeper.

Mario, It's relatively easy to pick out the right sounds for a song when you know your keyboard inside & out. Thanks for all of your kind words & encouragement! Thom
