The guy should read up a bit about recording techniques it's a real shame you can hear all those fret noises in the recording. Agreed. Maybe I should send him a note about our forum...

I do believe Audacity would take out the fret noise.
One has to be very mindful of how much the noise reduction is used in Audacity,as it tends to "digitize" the overall sound,which takes away from the natural ambiance of the sound.
In fact,using Audacity to resolve this issue would be the absolute last resort for me.
Some carpeting & any sort of padding on the walls is a no brainer,which shouldn't necessitate readings from a manual.
