Shouldn't this be called Don't Panic? ;D

Nice exercise in composition on the edge of collapse. I like the drifty far away sounds. They compliment the chaotic beats nicely. Like the bass line, too. Seems a bit long, though. Somewhere in the middle it might need a whole new layer of really hectic beats crashing around, something to kick up the tension before it calms down enough for the resolution.

Liked it.

Hi Jazzyspoon,
Welcome to the forum. Very distinctive style you have in your song. About the title though: I will remeber this song as "Don't panic"  :D

Welcome aboard !!
This track shines for sound quality, it's really well produced and sounds fine on my speakers.
It could have been in the Alchemaic digitalis section of the old auditorium.
A very well defined mood, the talking voice works great, it would had been anonymous without it
Great work on the glitchy rhythm

Cheers

Thanks, guys.  i agree, the name seems inappropriate with the "dont panic" sample running over and over, but my (over thought) "point of hope" title was born out of the fact that no matter how haphazard things are in the beginning, they tend to come together towards the end.... or so we hope.  Hence, the song kind of congeals towards the end.
Its a new track, so there's always time to try out a new name.  As for its length, this is a little long, but thats the kind of feedback i posted it here for.
I really like posting my more rare tracks in these forums outside of kvr.  I get very different responses.  thanks for that.
I posted another exclusive on another forum here (http://=http://www.apostates.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=195#195) if you are curious at all to hear more stuff.
peace and thanks for being polite, insightful, and helpful.

mmmh... I think the link is messed up....better here (http://www.apostates.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=195)

Very nervous thing, I like it. Noisy and urban is a good description.  8)

THE POINT OF HOPE - Jazzyspoon
is the first song I listen to after been away for 2 weeks.

Interesting, it has something to say which is important for a song.
I like that the way you played with that EP, it keeps it interesting.

I realy appreciate the style, which I experience a some new form of free electronic jazz.
Very interesting

Interesting track. I liked the chaotic beats, it gave the track an IDM vibe which is ok by me. Loved the rhythmic interplay between the beats and sounds. I agree that it needs a break somewhere in the middle to add a bit more varyance to it. Still an interesting and enjoyable listen though.  :)

Love the IDM-ish infection drum-analog sounds.  The vocal was well used and chosen, and the progression smooths by with a strong sense of unification and identification.

I recognize that "Don't Panic" (I think)... something from HitchHicker's Guide, I think...

The bass is as clear and smooth as glass.  Man, I feel like such a butcher of sound when I compare my stuff to this quality of clearness in the sound spectrum.

Dist drums are a plus.  they sound dist without being terrible on the mix... how did you do that?  True, it is a bit long, but then again we all have short attention spans.

Two thumbs up... way up.

This is pretty far out there, in a good way.
The samples are a litle chessy but do work

lol
yeah, it was a last minute thing on those cheesy samples (and I do believe thats where that sample is from)  Overall this track needs to be around 2 or so minutes shorter and I would certainly consider it a "b-side" of mine.  I'll make the attempt to update it soon.
But thanks everybody for all the responses.  this forum is so supportive and responsive.

Mate, if that's a
"b-side"
then I'd really like to hear some of your a-sides!

That was so unlike what I normally listen to, but so interesting.

Nice!

Cheers
Mike

Wow, thanks Mike!  Glad you liked it.  This was a b-side, but its beginning to lean more towards the a-side these days.  Still, not a feature track of mine.
I have since posted it in other forums (giving good props to the kind folks at Kara Moon for thier assistance) and it was met with great response.
peace in pieces,
Jazzyspoon
