Title: Apple to develop Internet competitor
Post by: Marc JX8P on April 01, 2011, 02:15:39 PM
Rumor has it that Apple is developing a competitor to the internet, featuring mainly wireless servers. Connection will only be possible using iOS products (including all OSX follow up products, current Macs will not be supported. The name will be iNET, based on a single-knot security protocol (the complete name will therefore be SK-iNET.

Aside from streaming iTunes based services, the other areas of interest will be a distributed Artificial Intelligence (iAI). Apparently, for some reason they're also working with Arnold Schwarzenegger although his role is as of yet unclear.

I'd be very interested to hear from people who understand the nuances of internet activity, and the implications of this development from Apple.
