We got reviewed in SOUND ON SOUND!

A while ago we sent our first album to the reviewers of the excellent UK magazine SOUND ON SOUND and today the review is online at http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/nov09/articles/playback_1109.htm! The magazine is both in printed and in an online format and contains loads of great and in-depth music gear reviews as well as stories and insights from the music business. It's been a must-read for us for years so we're really chuffed to be in there!

Once again thanks to Oren and Bob - the compliments on the mixing is surely as much due to your excellent mastering as our original mixing!

Congrats!!  Nice to see you in SoS, I get it regularly and I had no idea that was your cd

It's just a pity the reviewer spent 1/2 the review basically saying he doesnt like ambient music, but at least he finally got back on track in the final paragraph and gave his opinion of the album - the point of the review.  You write some great music, so the fact that you managed to win over someone who doesnt really like that genre, for me, gives you extra bonus points! 


On a side note, the album by the band I was in, was reviewed by a snotty, musical elitist from NME, who said although the music was of a high standard - he likened us to Spinal Tap!! as he said we took ourselves too seriously. Our thoughts were "Brilliant - NME hates us, we MUST be good!!" 

Congrats again on the review!

Thanks impablomations! Sam Inglis is a great reviewer and I love reading his often very funny and very blunt reviews. To be honest I was prepared for much worse having read his other reviews so like you said, I was very happy with this review!

Thanks! Thom, you should consider getting an e-sub if you really like it. I got myself one and it's really cool: you get the new stuff way before it's in the shops and you get access to a big archive of articles that you can search. If you're not that interested in the e-sub, you should take a look at their article archive anyway; I believe they unlock any articles older than a few years so there's tons of information to be found on their website: http://www.soundonsound.com/.
