Title: KVR August 2023
Post by: folderol on August 27, 2023, 05:56:40 PM
Arram Koth is a fabled ancient city somewhere in deep space. Many have searched. Few have found it, and even fewer return.

The concert was a one-off affair.
The residents of all known civilizations were invited to send musicians to the city, and free travel was offered for the less advanced. To the disappointment of many, the denizens of a small blue planet failed to respond to any form of contact.

Here is the finale where a representative of all the bands came together in an improvisation. Obviously it took a little while for them all to get in the 'zone'!

Something very different from you Will.

I am a huge Sci-Fi fan so you know that I would thoroughly enjoy this one.
Great work on this!  I really liked it.

PS -maybe you should write/finish that Sci-Fi story. I for one would like to read it.

Thanks a lot Mario.
The Arram Koth name does actually have a very long history.
I started writing a SF story in my early 20s (1970s). Sadly all trace of this has long gone. In the mid 1980s I started to write a text adventure game based on this, but by the time I had it nearly complete, everyone had moved on to graphic games, so that went by the wayside too, and I now have neither the floppy disks nor the machine to play therm on :(
Music seems to be doing rather better, and I'm using remembered snippets as a triggger.

So far there are the following:
- Into The Gates of Arram Koth
- The Caves of Arram Koth
- The Arram Koth Galactic Concert

I'll also be adapting and renaming my recent White Sands and Blue Water  ;D

Interesting.
I would seem that I started after you. I programed three games for the  Bally video game system; an American football game that got published, a Evel Knievel type car jumping game, and another that I forgot the name of. I also programed a golf game for the Atari computer but didn't submit it as I found out about those funny looking MIDI thingies and that stopped my programing and started my digital music.
