I have been studying Reason3. One of my goals with it is to
make background music to meld with acoustic and electric
instruments..a sonic canvas if you will. I like the way that defines
a space..and presents the instruments.

This is my first shot at making a song with it. After making my
contest entry for October, I played several synthesizer tracks
in Reason and exported as an audio file to edit and mix in Audition.

Hope you like it.

Wyatt

Hi Wyatt
this is pretty experimental but there are good melodies
I think it's important to try new things, sounds and technics.
This track has an unusual atmosphere, built from particular sounds and I think I understand what you mean with 'defining a space'

Cheers

@Laguna..thank you for listening and thank you for your kind words.
..yes, defining a space..when I first noticed that kind of "acoustic space"
in a song, just being able to hear that began to change my music forever.
It has taken a very long time to begin to capture it.  Grin

@Kara..hehe..thats great! ..I'm glad you're back, and I'm glad you like what
I did while you were gone. Smiley

I have really enjoyed the challenges of fitting instruments into
electronic music. At first glance they seem to exist in different worlds..
..but there is a place where those two worlds touch..

..slipping into that layer is one of the things I have enjoyed so much
about writing songs with you.

Let's make some more music.  Grin

Wyatt,

Atmospheric piece of work, fella! Your harmonica stuff blends wonderfully with the synthetic components. Lots of space and thoughtful pauses - very musical.

Schweet,

Oren.
