It has been quite some time since my last post, hope everyone's doing fine Smiley

Here's a new track, with dutch lyrics. For those who don't understand this - you don't know your luck  Grin
No seriously, it's about a man after his wife has left him, realising it's all his own damn fault, for he fooled around too much etc... Not exactly cheerful, I know.

About the music: it's in a 3/4 metre, something else for a change.

All your remarks and suggestions are appreciated!

Frederik

Even though I didn’t understand a word of this I really like it.  Super mix, choice of sounds, lead vocal and harmonies.

This is a keeper.

As Mario said, this is a very well crafted composition. Crystal clear mix, and well positioned instruments. Again, though I don't know the language, the singing is spot on.

Thanks for the kind words.
I'm working on several new things, not all in dutch, thank god, and I'll share once I get some decent version finished!

I'm lucky, I understand the lyrics. Nice song.

Perhaps some comments: I would bring forward the pinao a little bit, this will brighten the mix a bit up. I like the way the vocals was mixed (the subtle echo voice in the background). I'm also missing the presence of the drums in the mix... well... to my taste of course...

That said, a wunderfull song !

Hope to hear some more of you...

Different - in a  good way  Oddly similar to Celtic folk music.

Interesting composition, great mix.

 Shocked
I'm well impressed by this.

I've always been one of those listeners who hears the vocal as 'a part of the whole' song. I usually have to have the lyrics written down to be able to follow them.
So, it doesn't really bother me that I don't know the language. It is all part of the overall sound.

The construction of this piece is fabulous.
The combination of instruments is quite special.
It makes me think, specially the latter half, of the 'electric-traditional' sound created by Steeleye Span in the late 70's.

Super song.

Thanks for your kind words, Oren and Ofthewall.

It's alwyas nice and surprising to hear about those "resemblances", since most of the time I never thought about those myself, let alone tried to make the piece sound that way... But maybe it's some subconscious thing  Wink
