I didn't want to fall into the habit of producing a cluster of cover songs,but as any mountain climber will tell you when asked; "I did it,because it was there".
That being said,this song by Level 42 is a mountainous undertaking & it's something I wanted to do for many moons.

I spent about 4 ten hour days to to learn,record & mix this monstrosity & I've satisfied my "karaoke" urge and in fact,I don't want to even think about doing cover songs for at least 6 months.

Mark King is one extraordinary musician and a masterful bassist & writer/arranger.Many musicians are master performers,but few also are imbued with a creative talent that matches their playing skills;

I have to admit that I never really liked Level 42 much. Their overall style was not to my taste.
Also, as a bass player myself at the time that they were popular, I didn't like MK's style. Far too fussy and showy for me.  Roll Eyes

This song was one of their best, to my mind.
You have made an absolutely mega-fabulous job of this Thom.  wOO

It is one of the best covers that you have done, maestro.
Truly soulful.  Cool

With out a doubt one of the best you've done. Faultless instrumentation. Clear, concise vocals and harmonies. Love that fade out to piano.

Seeing as this just blew me away I guess we're well through the 'Roaring Fortes' now, heading for Gale Force Shocked

Very good version  Smiley
Maybe your sound would benefit of being less 'dry'...
Some more fx may help to make it sounds 'fuller'.
Thanks!

Thanks Mag. Cool Appreciate the input,but the idea was to sound as close to the original as possible and the only area I would have been able to improve upon,is if I had a better piano VST.
