Hey all,
I've been composing and working on recording a choral piece over the last... several months. It's slow going, but I've almost reached the end of the road.
It's a lullaby called "Sleep Little Baby"--lyrics adapted from the poem "Lullaby" by Horace Smith (it's in the public domain). Eventually the aim is to get this performed by a real choir. My final recording with vocals will be made with that goal in mind--more as an audition piece for choral directors than anything else.
Anyway, I've put the piano part up as a preview on sound cloud, for anyone interested in listening. The rest of it is mostly done, after a LOT of repeat visits to the drawing board as they say.
I've got a couple of tracking issues to fix up, and a ton of little niggly things to fix. It's the nature of the beast when you're recording eight different vocal parts and you want everything to be as perfect as you can get it.
Here's the piano part for anyone who's interested in listening. The piano sound is the "full concert grand" from my Motif XF8.
