Since I can't play at the moment, due to the fact that I hurt my right hand
I'm using my free time to do stuff that I usualy don't do, amongst other things, this is putting a bit of order in my studio
Reorganising stuff made me realise how big my sample and loops library is.
And I don't use 90 % of it
Not because it is no good but because I allways forget that I have something or don't find it back ! I sometimes even resample something that i allready have, because it is faster then searching for the samples.
A quick inventory showed me that I have around 40.000 samples and loops.
And NO organisation in that collection.
I wonder how you organise this ? The perfect solution would be some software database where you can make a catalogue with a description and a link to the sample. That way you could do a couple of searches with different criteria and directly listen to the sample that you want.
Any ideas ?
For me it had to work on linux.
