Title: A collab from another place Post by: offthewall on August 20, 2012, 08:56:22 PM 8)
Well ... a couple of months back one of our KVR'ists posted a very short but atmospheric instrumental piece which immediately grabbed my attention as it was very much in my own style. I asked if he fancied making it into a song as I was inspired by the music and the title of the piece. I took it up with just an acoustic guitar and fleshed out a story from the title, sent it back to Dan for him to stitch together and put a bit of extra filling into it. After some time, in the mix, this is the result. I Didn't Mean To Get So Lost. I sing and play acoustic guitar ... Dan does the rest. ;) James Title: Re: A collab from another place Post by: offthewall on August 20, 2012, 08:59:51 PM And ...
for those who aren't Lame, here is an OGG Oh ... and the lyrics: When you told me that our life Together was at an end I thought that you were playing a trick on me I really did not comprehend. After all of those years we had been good together I felt that you had got your wires crossed. I just wandered aimlessly through the rest of my life I didn’t mean to get so lost. I did not mean to get so lost How could I have not foreseen the cost. I have lost my home I’ve lost my job I’ve lost everything I ever had that was good I just hit the skids like so many other guys before me have And did those stupid things that I never should. I was down and out and drunk and walking A dark and lonely highway I really thought I’d lost my mind Then I thought about the things that sent me down this path And I remembered just what I’d left behind. I did not mean to get so lost How could I have not foreseen the cost. ;) James Title: Re: A collab from another place Post by: Oren on August 21, 2012, 11:20:26 PM Monster tracks - both Dan's contribution, and guitars (particularly the slide action), and vocal. Outstanding lyrics, as well. :;
