Title: Time for a little quiz : Guess the synth
Post by: kara on April 06, 2011, 12:32:00 PM
The game is guess the synth with which the attached track was made.

A couple of hints :
  • It's a software synth available for Win & Mac.
  • It's an oldie, when it came out, you could barely run 2 instances due to the processor power it needs.
  • As you can hear in the attached track it's capable of different synthesizes methods
  • It's freeware and it is still maintained by the developer, a recent upgrade was released
  • The developer has a favorite color and loves trees.

The attached demo track was made only with the synth, no FX applied only the ones in the synth itself.

SO, what is it ?  ;D

Since I've been only a hardware enthusiast up until 3 years ago,I haven't a clue....couldn't even take a wild guess. ??? The sounds are cool though,so I am looking forward to when the answer is revealed...so I can download it. 8)

No clue, Bro - but I like it! My guess is, it models an analog subtractive synth...

It doesn't model analog but it is subtractive and can also do FM
Besides it can use wave forms as source for his oscillators
ok, i'll give the first letter, the rest is up to you guys :D

At a very wild guess maybe 'Jupiter' emulator. Don't know who produced it though.

One thing becomes obvious about Mrs. DeLaura's son, very early in the game: moss does not grow on this rolling stone...
