Title: Remix of a 4 year old collab Post by: folderol on March 28, 2012, 05:17:52 PM I'm still having little success musically at the moment. The last KVR entry just about used up all my ideas so I'm back to looking over old stuff.
In the process I turned up a collab between myself and James, but when I played it from the original I forgot to connect the synth. The result was I heard mostly James' parts and was shocked at how much detail - particularly guitars - had been buried in the original mix :'( Yesterday evening and this evening I set about putting this right. Now, I know I posted the original on here before, but can't seem to find it, so I'm putting both version up on here. For interest the tracks are: From me: Smooth pad Deep Chimes Choir x 2 Flute (sound font) From James: Guitar x 3 Mandolin x 2 Bodhran Whistle x 2 Tambourine Title: Re: Remix of a 4 year old collab Post by: offthewall on March 28, 2012, 05:24:18 PM Will,
in a hurry just now but, if it was dated 18th January 2008 I have it and can post it later this evening. ;) James Title: Re: Remix of a 4 year old collab Post by: offthewall on March 28, 2012, 08:43:26 PM :o
This is a quite interesting re-mix, mate. As you say, surprising how much detail was submerged in the mix. The new version gives a refreshing turn to things. :-X One thing that jars, to my old ears ... the whistle playing should be so much better than that :-\ If you want to re-visit this just let me know ... I can see if an improvement could happen ::) ;) James Title: Re: Remix of a 4 year old collab Post by: Oren on March 28, 2012, 10:26:47 PM Big improvement! Refined to a pleasantly detailed listening experience. :-

Yes I'd be delighted if you'd like to have another go at this. I have all the stubs so it would be easy to slot the new parts in. @Oren I'm just rather embarrassed at how badly I fluffed it first time :-[ @Azell Ma tentative plus tôt était un rêve très petite celtique. James l'a transformé en Rêve Celtique :) My very earliest attempt was a small celtic dream. James turned it into Celtic Dreams :) |
