I went 'digital' about 10 years ago, and was analog temperture controlled for a good few years before that.
P.S. With modern coated iron bits, you're best off not cleaning them with a damp sponge, but instead using the little blocks of cleaning compound like this (http://uk.farnell.com/edsyn/gek-10/cleaner-solder-tip-60g/dp/2100014) It might look expensive but lasts for a very long time, and will clean almost anything off the iron. I'll check and see if that cleaner is right for stainless, and get some forthwith... |
