To keep everyone informed of new releases I've been maintaining a "there is a new version" available list via my personal email program. This is getting tedious (and with the new ISP I have, may be impossible). So, I've created a google groups mailing list MMA-Announce.

Only the owner, me, can post to this list and it will ONLY be used for MMA announcements. Low volume is promised. I will be adding all the people currently getting personal mails from me to the list. Anyone else can subscribe: just go to http://groups.google.com/ and follow the prompts. Remember, the group's name is MMA-announce.

This has nothing to do with support in the Kara-Moon forum. It will continue as is, and will hopefully expand with more examples and discussions!

You have to have a google account to be able to subscribe to a google group.
So, I don't see how you will add people to your list that don't have a google account.

I think it is possible ... at least according to the docs/help on google it is:

In this case the the mails should be sent to the email addresses of the users. Users can opt in/out via the normal google stuff .. I'm not sure if they need an account at that point, or if it's automatically setup? Anyone?

I have one or more announce lists coming to me like this via google and email, so I don't see a problem. Of course, I've not done it yet :) But, I plan to set up the users later this week or next.

Anyone else have experience? If someone has an easier way to do all this, do let me know. I can't run a mailserve list from any of my accounts ...

The new announce list has been created and invitations to join have been mailed to users on my personal lists. If you have been missed our would just like to join, it's easy. Just visit the group ...
