Title: Cedars - a new CD by Bob van der Poel
Post by: bvdp on April 10, 2008, 10:31:14 PM

Well, it only took me about 40 years to produce this ... and I'm glad that I took my time :)

Seriously, this is a CD with me playing sax on original tracks. It started out as a demo of just what MMA could do, but evolved into some pretty good sounding easy listening music.

Have a look and buy the darned thing:

Thanks to all who helped on this. Esp. Kara who was generous with his time in giving advise on mixing, etc.

Bob,

You've taken the MMA backing tracks to a very impressive level. Congratulations on a finely crafted instrumental album.

Incidently, if I climbed up on the roof and looked north-east, I could see the Kootenays, but Mount Baker is in the way :'(. Greetings from southern Vancouver Island.

Oren.

Thanks for the comment. Appreciated.

I'll tell you the hardest thing about this project was the mixing ... I'm a fellow who just wants to play and listen to music; and I have great difficulty in hearing the audio as opposed to the music/song. Different skill set completely. I envy those few who can do both!

Oh, and you'd have to get up VERY high on that roof of your to see the Kootenays. At about 700 km I'd have to think the earth might get in the way  ;)

Best,

Good luck with this. Some nice tunes here, cleanly produced.
