Title: New song by It-Alien: "Preys and Predators"
Post by: It-Alien on September 08, 2008, 10:54:40 AM
Hi, I have finally completed my orchestral project "Swallows' Pain (http://www.last.fm/music/It-Alien/Il+dolore+delle+rondini)", by releasign the last song,

"Preys and Predators (http://www.renoise.com/songs/cntdl.php?si=1139&dt=2&ln=napodano.com/music/download.php?Id=1127)".

It is a string quartet song, although it's not made with a standard string quartet ensemble, since it's composed of two cellos and two violins.

The music tries to depict the chasing of preys by air predators, alternating and fusing the different characters of the two.

I agree, you did nail it!  You did a fantastic job on both instruments.

It is obvious that you have this genre of music done pat

May I ask what are your sound sources?  They sound real to me!

hi and thanks for feeback to you all!

the entire album has been created using:

- EastWest Symphonic Orchestra Gold XP (through Native Instruments Kontakt 2) for ensemble instruments
- Garritan Stradivari Violin
- Garritan Gofriller Cello
- Modartt PianoTeq
- IK Multimedia SampleTank 2 for jazz drums (featured in track "La Caduta di una Foglia")
- Spectrasonics Trilogy for upright bass (featured in track "La Caduta di una Foglia")

the sequencer used is Renoise 1.91, except this track, which has been done with the forecoming Renoise 2.0 (currently in private alpha stage, but very close to beta for registered users).

Effects used (spatializing, reverb, compression) are those in bundle with Renoise.

For the record, the album will be available on my Jamendo page (http://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/It-Alien) too in a short time; it has been just uploaded and it's in the process of publishing/moderation; I will let you know when it will be published.

Outstanding, in every way.

Unbridled creativity and carefully detailed production, in the same package  :;

The orchestration is excellent - hard to believe they aren't real instruments.
