Title: Virus TI
Post by: Moon on June 08, 2006, 07:02:57 PM
Anybody had a change yet to try the new Virus TI?
I've read the review in SOS magazine. I looks great and really integrates nicely with a DAW, so it looks nice.
But is it also great ?
(Someone made me believe when you have this synth, you'll trow away what you own... including your soft synths...)

I know this is an old post but I thought i'd reply.  I've got an Virus Ti Polar and the thing is the best sounding Synth i've ever owned.  Yes, it integrates into VST to make things easier, but it streams it over USB, maybe at 16bit...not sure, but using it's own converters it kicks ass.  The huge range of the synth is unbelievable ...but then again, so is the price.  I've got loads of Soft Synths, but this blows them all away in my opinion.  Only thing that does my head in about it, is that there is no ON/OFF button...it just goes into standby mode...but the Filter...is to die for!

Yeah, I know the Virus TI is great. I won't want one, but the price is stopping me  :-[

Anyway, instead of buying the real thing, I bouth Lennar digital's Silenth1. Not exactly the same thing, but close enough considering my budget constrain. In the mean time I can only keep dreaming....  :)

Have I mentioned I stopped dreaming and got a second hand TI ?

Great device. Really !

Combining the TI with Sylenth1 is giving you lots of possibilities.
