Title: TC Helicon VT Create
Post by: elwoodblues1969 on June 08, 2009, 08:02:22 PM
In my desperate quest for a reasonably priced mic preamp & external effects unit....I had begun to think that-in order to upgrade on these two items,I would be put to considerable expense for both,regardless of what price range I would choose.
Merely choosing a preamp is a large enough task in of itself,but also choosing an effects processor with the versatility I needed...well...I knew I had to look beyond the conventional options & seek out my solution in the most unlikely area.........effects pedals-yes,you've read it right..effects pedals! I was not expecting an effects upgrade on a budget pedal,but the Voice Tone Create is a very pleasant surprise!
There are not many user reviews out there,but it seems that certain gear for live use,does not command the same draw for reviews as does studio equipment....and I am sure that the average person does not seek out a stage effects unit for studio use.
As for myself though,I not only needed a preamp that would be an upgrade from my Tascam preamps,but my effects needs are a tall order,in that I want the capability to have total control of where & when,the effects are implemented in a recording.
That being said,the VT Create meets ALL of my requirements...a wide assortment of effects,editing,flexible implementation,a clean preamp & clean & colorful effects-WOW!
Of course though,I was initially skeptical of these features for a mere $249...but I read the specs,listened to the audio & video demos & read through the magazine & users reviews and I was sold on it unconditionally!
I could not find any information as to how many dB's of gain there are-but whatever the amount,it should suffice and the most important features...are  that the preamp & effects are of studio quality. :;
