Title: Tragicus: new edirol rendering added (in reply)
Post by: Frederik on April 12, 2007, 08:19:51 PM
EDIT: I uploaded the edirol orchetral rendering (rearrangement), it can be found in my most recent reply to this topic ;)

This is a piece I've started scoring in Sibelius...
The sounds are rendered with the kontakt player silver that is standard too this sibelius version. It's a bit quiet, but when I started to pump up the volume the sound started to distort  :-\

It isn't finished yet - I had some ideas for a nice fast and happy theme coming later on -  but I had to return the laptop with the sibelius after I finished my transcription job (of a 17th century mass).
If I have to do another transcription in the future I'll maybe develop it further. Or maybe I'll just remake it and develop it further with my edirol orchestral...

anyway, hope you'll enjoy this totally different thing too!

all comments and suggestions are of course appreciated,

bye,

frederik

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant !
I'm jealous.
I've downloaded, and I'm listening again and again.
Great, Frederik, great.

ok, I'm not jealous, I'm never jealous of the work of an artist  ;D
But I appreciate a lot the work that went in to this, you have really the talent to compose pieces like this, something I don't have so I'm not jealous.
But I really appreciate listening to it  8)

I hope you'll pick this up one day to finish it.

Kara

Wooowww ! Congratulations Frederik

it sounds fine, seems you put a lot of work into it.
I think is bit quiet but ok. Yes, you could have used a lot of compression on it, but you risk it sounds less realistic.
You can try with a moderate setting (in order to preserve dynamics)
Excellent music  8)

Cheers

Real nice to see you here, Frederik ;D I was hoping you would find it!

This is beautiful. Love the piano...really well done. Those trills are outstanding, and they're everywhere. I can't get close to those...never could :-[

Thanks for all the very kind words - you almost made me blush  ;)

I hope i can make things like this more often, but they indeed take a lot of work (and of course time).

bye,

frederik

I just love your music!  Your piano is so beautiful.  Maybe you could spark another Renaissance?
Are you related to Chopin?

No Need to bump it Daniel - I was about to comment anyway :)

... but what can i say, that hasn't been covered by everyone else?

I can really appreciate the sheer hard work you must have put in to make this, and the attention to detail. I can almost see my old piano teacher pounding the keys, that wisp of hair dropping over his eyes :)

@Daniel..hmm..seems to me I have heard your own very beautiful music.   ;D

@Frederick..your playing reminds me of what I tell people who ask me about learning to play guitar:

"It's hard and it takes a long time, so if you aren't really in love with the guitar, learn to play the piano."

Thanks for the very kind words!

I made a version with the edirol orchestral in the meantime: I've made a couple of changes in the arrangement (strings at the start were to static), and of course it sounds much fuller.

Hope you'll enjoy this version a much (or more  ;) ) as the other
