Hi elv
the title 'Dark Waters' seems appropriate to me, with this darkish feel.
I'm unable to think of suggestions, 'cause it sounds very well to me, I wouldn't change anything.
it could use some refinement as in drum-fills or little melodic lines.
I hope someone else here can be more helpful  :-[
Excellent beat

Cheers

elv..
..interesting..I listened to it several times..even messed around with some guitar along with it.

..I like the way it evolves and @ :30..it opens up nicely..I like that.

..@1:22 you go into a softly menacing bit..made me think a real dangerous kind of
cataclysmic ending might be nice.

..I'm new to this, but you're catching my ear.

Wyatt

Thanks for listening guys.
@One and Laguna
Yeah been trying to have some melody at top, but it very hard to fit to the sound
@Wyatt
I would be interseted to hear your guitar on top.

Haha..so would I, elv..it was getting better, and inch at a time..and then I think I got it too monsterous..

..got 15 tracks in the air by the end of the morning, and think I ruined it somewhere along the line. :(

..anyway I am listening to your final version, and it seems stronger all the way through..

I like it..interesting music.

Wyatt

This is what I did with the original version..the suggestion of dark waters is an powerful one for me, because of larger than life experiences on the sea..there was a suggestion of the ominous, which I extended to the overwhelming..yes, I did put a bit of a large footprint in it.

This music is fascinating to me, and being new to this genre, I keep hearing layers, that I'm not quite sure how to achieve..so I tried to weave some guitar tracks through the center of it, to either side of it and around it..and by the time it got this far, I had rather filled it up..by now it sounds more like it should be in dark and evil..It reminds me of painting..if you don't stop in time, things tend to get darker.

..anyway this is what I did with an electric guitar, an electrc razor, and a multitrack recording software.

..I had thought about backing  this version down..taking out some tracks, but then I heard elv's new version, and  decided to leave well enough alone, since it wasn't my song in the first place, and the new version seems so complete in itself.

As for the new version:

I like the structure..intro starts out with a nice bass..then developing the main theme..a shorter interlude swirly and a little ominous, but the bit of danger is underneath..then the main theme longer, and an ending that eases me out..I like it better and it isn't so dangerous as where I went with it..you get to go on a journey through dangerous waters with the new version, but you get to stay in the boat!!

Bravo..great job.

Wyatt

Hi Wyatt
it ended up being much different from the original, no less interesting
I'd never thougth such morphing was possible but it works.
I agree it's darker. The pan tricks are a good way for insertions, indeed.  8)

Cheers

Wyatt version is indeed different, but there lies it beauty.
This is something I would think about doing , so it great to hear this stuff, and learn

wow, I like the intensity of this track.  Very strong groove and synth tension happening.  A lot of lift in that pounding rhythm.  Great work.  The layering is well done and the programming is solid.  The only thing I could bring to the table is that the light distortion on the beat is causing some eq bleed and distorting the arp synths as well.  This may have been intentional as it still works as it stands.
nice werk,
Jazzyspoon

Thanks for listening jazzyspoon.
yeah the distortion is bleedding a litle over the place, but since it sounded ok in hole, I didnt bother fixing it.yeah I know I can be a litle lazy
