Title: A gift for my great nephew... Post by: Oren on June 04, 2011, 08:13:15 PM Tommy is just a year old, but I want to start him off right with some decent guitar gear.
The Squier Mini feels and plays like its big brother, and the Fender Mustang amp has a tuner, digital effects, and amp modelling that sounds remarkably authentic. That guitar should do him until about age 12, and the amp is a capable practice/recording rig that could be a permanent part of his set-up. I promised his parents that I'd kick in for a new full-size Strat (or his choice of guitar) when he has outgrown the Mini... Title: Re: A gift for my great nephew... His mother's best friend is a guitar maniac, his father has aspirations to learn the instrument, and his grandfather was once an accomplished electric bass player. There was a time when that thought would have horrified me ;), but from what I have learned about keyboard instruments, MIDI controllers, and softsynths here at K-M, it is now an intriguing possibility.
