Everyone, give this a listen and give me an honest opinion.  This is the first time JonD and I tried anything orchestral and we would like to know how we did.

Interesting.

I like (almost) everything ... but the sax. And it's not that it's an electronic sax! Honest.

Things I'd change if I were doing it (and don't take any of this too seriously! It's not that I'm on call for gigs in New York):

   - I'd speed it up. Yeah, I know it's a ballad and all ... but.

   - I find that the sax comes in way too loud at the start.

   - The octave of the sax is too low. And when it's in the next octave, it gets a bit whiny.

   - a few times you've used a vibrato on the sax. A few times less would be better.

You might want to take the entire song up in pitch. Not a full octave. Perhaps try a fifth? That would raise up the sax to a nicer range.

But, you always do a nice job on these. And this is no exception. But, you wanted the honest low-down ... so here it is!

I agree that it is slow and that a little increase in tempo would help.

I also agree with everything you said about the sax.  This was going to be a jazz combo song but once we started adding strings we lost site of that goal!  I was thinking about changing the sax to a flute myself.  It looks like I should have.

Now we are deleting the leads and writing our own leads so that we can put it up on soundcloud as well as here.

Some good ideas in there, but not for me this time.

The impression I got was either the sax didn't fit or the strings didn't.
