Title: October Daydream
Post by: MarioD on October 12, 2018, 03:09:34 PM
You are laying under an old Maple tree during the autumn season.  Leaves of various shades of red, yellow, purple, black, orange, pink, magenta, blue, and brown are gently falling to the ground.  Your mind is drifting in many directions as you are experiencing an October Daydream.

JonD is playing one of the choirs and the lead via his keyboard controller.  I am playing the strings with my keyboard controller and Band-in-a-Box is playing the rest of the tracks.

Very nice chill-out track.
One small suggestion would be to use a slightly 'harder' sound for the lead, to bring it forward in the mix.

Cool.

I'll agree with folderol about bringing up the lead. You could use a 'harder' sound or do some creative panning with the accomp. off to the sides and the lead in the center. A bit more dynamic changes in the lead would help as well.

But, even without that, it's a nice piece. Thanks for sharing!

Pretty composition...nice choir sound.Very dry sounding though.Seems to have no effects...sounds like a mono track, actually.

Thom, I hear a touch of reverb and there is a stereo spread here.  One chorus and the strings are on the left, the second chorus is on the right with the balance of the instruments near the center, i.e. drums, keys, bass, and Jon's lead.
