FAUBOURGS (http://www.pompougnac-daniel.com/04pages/albums/CD6/album_cd6.html)
(Personal site)

FAUBOURGS (https://hearthis.at/pompougnac-daniel/faubourgs)
(HeartThis)

So here we are with a piece that started out to evoke the old suburbs of Paris, and which, in fact, went very quickly to the side of Buenos-Aires.
Bandoneon, jazz, brushed drums, everything is there. It sweats jazz and melancholy, and one immediately thinks of Astor Piazzola, but much less well, of course.
All this was involuntary.
Very short sober beginning, and one enters rather quickly in the heart of the subject.

A small technical detail : I took a lot of pleasure in creating the drum part with the Sitala Vst and by creating and collecting samples everywhere (no pre-made loops).
I practiced the song first on my real small acoustic drum, but I wasn't competent enough in this kind of music to play it properly.

Have a good listen.

An interesting mixture of ideas, with a somewhat pensive overall theme.

Also let a couple of other tunes play through on your site - particularly enjoyed Elle FAIT
