Oh boy. Waldorf is anouncing some realy promising stuff. I've never owned a Waldorf. I always felt that Waldorf sounded too "XXX"... hard to describe... But these new announcement certainly ask for some attention. I'm wondering about the end result...

In any case, if the price tag and the features match, this will become a serious contender for softsynths. This is a good evolution !

The price is certainly right, but I am hopelessly in love with keyboards & I have always had a passion for having my sounds & keys all in one package.

That being said,I am lusting after the Stromberg. Cool

I can't imagine ever saving up that much money for a synth, but I'm sure that if I laid my hands on one in a store,I probably would become mad enough to do so.

That being said,I must stay away from this synth at all costs! Grin

It's certainly nice to dream, but I must say,I am pretty well content with what I have to work with now. Cheesy

Anyone ever seen a Waldorf Wave (http://www.vintagesynth.com/waldorf/wald_wave.shtml)? In my mind one of the greatest ubersynths ever... I never got a chance to play or even listen to one, but just the design is amazing. All Waldorfs have an eye for design.

That's an oldie  Cheesy
I've seen a demo of it, in a shop, if I remember right that was around 1994 i think. At that time they where incredible expensive, but I think it was the first real analog wavetable synth
where you could create your own waves

Oh yes, definetely an oldie. But a great oldie. To me even more desirable than a minimoog or such.

Doesn't surprise me,
you have to hear what it is capable of and how analog it sounds.
When you have a toy like this, you don't even look to vsti's Cheesy

I'm giving up hardware synths, trying to move everything 'in the box'
This is certainly tempting... I have a good opinion of the Waldorf company, I remember many years ago I heard a Pulse and I was surprised by the excellent quality leads. (and green with envy for the guy who owned it...)

Cheers

That's funny- I've been going the other way- getting the sounds out of the box, and only using the 'puter for recording. I currently setting up a seperate computer to run the softsynths.

L.R.,

I don't blame you for preferring software or hardware,as it's an inexpesive way to go and there are plenty of amazing sounds to work with, but us hardware collectors lust after a vessel with our sounds..kind of like the difference between having a woman face to face,as compared to just seeing her online.
