We're about to get battered here..
First big snow of the year; calling for 10-14 inches today with blizzard conditions. A couple more tomorrow. According to the weather service warning, driving conditions will deteriorate to near impossible this afternoon! Visibility less than 1/4 mile.. 40mph winds causing drifting..  Perfect weather for a nice fire in the fireplace and watch some football.
They're saying snowfall could be signicantly higher by Lake Huron (I'm about 8 blocks from the river,1/2 mile from the lake). Wonder just how bad it'll get..the neighbors across the street just moved here from Cailfornia.  Hope he took my advice this summer and got himself a snow blower!
Time to batten down the hatches...guess I should take the screen out of the front door and put the glass in now, eh? Sounds like summers over

Good ol' Toro snowblower, much easier on the back. wOO
..well I'll have to shovel the front porch..and part of the back deck so the dog can see the stairs when I let her out..

Not had a real winter here since 62/63. Last time the Thames froze over in Reading (not far from London).

Good luck, and plenty of time for that 'ultimate' song composition  Cheesy

Here's a new development-
lightning and thunder during a snow storm.
I don't think I've seen that before. When that lightning happens with all the white it really catches your eye! Like a huge flashbulb.
I gotta go do the driveway while I can still tell where it is.. my shrubbery is getting drifted over. Pines are getting weighted down and touching the ground now..or has the snow come up to meet it..
first snow of the year is always fun...then it gets dirty and dreary for three months.
That's when there's extra music time.

Here's a picture from the front door. It's let up for a bit now, the bad stuff is suppose to hit this afternoon and tonight.  6"-8" so far.. I'll take another picture later on when I go back out to do some more snow removal.
Those pine branches are waist to chest high all summer, now they are bowed to the ground.

-10 ten degrees celsius, but not much snow yet here in Oslo

Two years ago the snow didn't even start melting before may, so i consider myself lucky when i think about that snow showeling part.

Rharv,

Beautiful shot...makes me really yearn for a good snowfall...does not happen much at the Jersey shore area. Embarrassed

There's been only two major snow storms here in the last 11 years,so if it snows like that hear, then rest assured, they'll be more pictures taken then I could possibly know what to do with. Grin

Just once,I would love to have a snow storm here for X-Mas Eve...just once.
