I am currently on hiatus, thanks to college. This is a piece that I robbed myself of some sleep to write. I dedicated this piece to my fiance; her birthday is this weekend.

It has three segments: orchestral, piano solo, ambient.

Lovely arrangement  Cool
Good orchestration, did you make that one in FL ?

I think it could perhaps benefit from some more melody or counter melody to keep the listeners attention. Just an idea....

Great soundtrack-ish music, I agree on the hi quality of the orchestration
Excellent inspiration, this is a nice composition

That sounds great. I would love to experiment some more with the piece with regards to your suggestion. I think that melody took a back seat to mood after the orchestration, but I really do wish I had more time to devote to the piece. Working full time and online-college is a tough gig at times.

Yes, I used FL -- only sequencer I have ever used. FL was the canvas and the Philharmonik Miroslav was the paint, not including the ambient pads.

Thanks so much for the encouragement fellas... this has been a musical oasis in a desert of a hiatus.

Just have to agree with everyone else here. Very sensitive performance.

Yo NF, how are you  wOO
Cool to listen again to your art  Grin

Do you know know Erik Satie, a french modern classical musician ?
The first half of the song reminds me his "Gymnopedies" or "gnossiennes" written for piano but in an orchestral arrangement.
Very beautiful.
The second half is great too! Cool piano, really  Afro
A great listening, thanks to share!

This is a really beautiful track with a great eye for detail. Some lovely solo instruments stand out for me - oboe and flute always sound great to me - and I love that piano which opens the piece. Satie is indeed a good comparison here. The bright, shimmering effect (I don't know the instruments name here) is used a bit much though - about three times. At the last part, although I'm a fan of synth pads I do feel that they are a bit out of place here, though. Both timbrally as well as the tremolo-effect on the sound which to be honest is a bit much for me. The ending is a bit sudden as well. I know it connects back to the first part. Still, the first parts are perfect and I love your piano playing!
