We had our first real live Kara-Moon meeting this week in Brussel - Belgium.
On the pic you see Marc and some musician friends and myself  Cool
I've met allso Moon, to discuss about the new features for the site !

Marc allso had the very good idea about organizing an annual Kara-Moon meeting with a live gig which could be recorded  Cool

What do you think about this idea ?

k

It was an absolutely brilliant night and it was great to meet one of our forum hosts here in person! From left to right on the pic there's me, Percy TKNX (whom I collaborate with as 87pm.music!), Kara and Danny, a friend of Percy and me.

I'd love to see a meeting with a jam/gig happening at some time, like Kara said. Preferably somewhere close to the Netherlands though as I don't have a car! Wink

Ideas enough  Grin

Belgium is pretty centralized in Europe, so that would an obvious choice for the country...
We would need a studio where we can play and record, Moon ?  Grin

If we do it in the summer, sleeping would be easy, just bring your camping gear  Wink
I would come with my camper, I have sleeping room for 3 extra people...

I could lay down some basic tracks and post them, to have something to rehears for the gig  Tongue

Any other ideas ?
Takers ?

I had also a great time that night, as you can see on the picture.

I think it's a very good idea to organise such event, I'm in as well.

@Rharv;
Nice to hear that I have a familiar face, but I only have a picture (as far as I know) on my facebook, and with Marc on our myspace.
But I often hear people say that they know me, so for me it's a good sign  Wink

Looking forward to play together.  wOO

I'd be 'sort of' interested but I've not done any live group work for more years than I care to remember so don't know if I'd be able to fit in. I'd enjoy the meeting anyway.

Bit hard on our American/Canadian friends Undecided

P.S.

Glad you all had such a good time.

I'm discussing with Moon the possibilities at the moment  Grin
We'll keep you posted, but it looks as the first Live kara-moon will happen....

Off course our USA and Canadian friends are very welcome to join us  Wink

You guys look so cool!

Welcome Percy - any friend of Marc's is pre-approved  Grin

As far as Canadians visiting Europe is concerned....well, we are accustomed to lots of elbow-room....too many people in one place tend to make us nervous.
We'll have to continue with the long-distance collaborations, and let you wild creatures have all the real fun Cry

Looks very promising this event.

Yesterday I talked with my wife Bastienne about it.
She was even more exited about this idea of meeting musicians from all over the world.

So we can also offer some place to sleep. Wink

@Oren thank you, you make me feel very welcome Smiley

Nice idea, although it will take away a lot of 'magic'...
Belgium is indeed central and there are lots of facillities, infrastructure and gear, but a local organisation would be helpfull to give a hand.
After 21 years out of Belgium, my contacts need an update, some died and others retired (I presume).  A pitty, īcose we could have done it staying in a casttle, playing in itīs park... Cry
Iīll try to fresh up my connections; thinking of Trix in Antwerp, they do software teaching etc...  My nephew is supposed to be 'hot' in the DJ and techno-world...  I even could check Vorst-Nationaal for free dates, but the acoustic is very bad there. Wink
It is possible, but a lot of work; itīs just like organising a festival... Cool

BTW, tx for your comment on my friendīs electronics, folderol ! Itīs was like hearing him talk again ! Grin

Cheers mates,

Max... .. . wOO

Kara,

This is a wonderful concept that I would absolutely love to be a part of,but it is quite impossible for me to do this year. Cry

However though, since this will be a continuous, annual thing, sign me up for next year! Cheesy

Cheers,

Thom
