Studiophile,Audiophile & Synthophile.

Amidst the vast sea of marketing hype, flash & rhetoric amongst keyboard workstations these days, there is a product from a company where quality, functionality and reliability exists without question-which is the Kurzweil PC3X!
This particular Kurzweil model does not have a sampling function, nor does it have a multitrack audio recorder built in,but in terms of sheer quality with regard to acoustic,as well as synths sounds and it's sequencer, this not only out-performs the Roland Fantom G6 by leaps and bounds, the PC3X has unsurpassed sample quality of acoustic sounds and the most flexible and powerful synth engine ever created in the industry-and this is undisputed.

Size: 88 weighted keys
Polyphony: 128 note,16 part multitimbral
Synth engine: improved Vast engine with an additional VA-1 synth(from an older prototype model)
Program presets:850,with 1,024 user memory locations
Sequencer: unlimited tracks, with 16 insert effects!!
Arpeggiators: 16 independent
Memory storage: xD card

Price: $3,269.97(USD)

This is Kurzweil's best product to date and it is roughly 2 grand cheaper than the 88 key K2600XS workstation,so that being said, having no sampler and audio recorder built in is trivial.

If I had to replace my Korg, this keyboard would be it and if I did this,it would be like having the old K2661 and an Access Virus all in one,but with far more polyphony and sequencer tracks!!! Cheesy wOO

OK, quality comes with a certain cost...

OK, quality comes with a certain cost...

An odd experience unfolds for me daily in which I am still breathing at 53 years, feeling healthy and optimistic, and able to afford the very best of musical tools. Who could have guessed....?

In the course of coping with this novel situation, a recurrent theme has become apparent:
One piece of quality equipment is far better than an armload of cheap toys, and will ultimately cost a lot less. Save your money, do your research, and go for the best.

Presently, if I was buying a keyboard instrument, it would be a Kurzweil... and very likely the one Thom is recommending.
(if I did not have enough for such a high-end instrument, I'd wait, use ZynAddSubFX Cheesy, save my money, and then buy the Kurzweil Shocked)

OK folks, note these wise words of Oren !

I even can add a recommendation: once you have that quality instrument, stick with it... learn how to use all the potential... and focus on the music !
