I'm doing a lot of travelling at the moment which gives the problem that I don't have the time to do a lot in my studio Today I'm back again from a week away from home and my fingers where tickeling to play a bit.... This small song was done in a hour tops using my 15 years old GEM SK760 keyboard connected to my BOSS BR600 recorder. Just 2 takes. Take 1 : Autodrums from the keyboard, and keyboard split in left hand EP and right hand Organ. Take 2 : Added the bass As it is an old keyboard, it sounds a bit retro but I quit like the sound of it. Hm, It could perhaps use a bit guitar ? The song title is : Contemplating the journey. k

Yes, very nice track. To me, it has a sort of 50s-60s dance-hall atmosphere.

Kara, This song has the atmosphere of a classic european short film-a very authentic quality to it. This piece would go great with the dream I had last night...I dreamt that I was visiting Paris and I was sitting out on a veranda eating french bean soup....very strange though,as I never had the pleasure of doing such a thing.. Needless to say,I woke up extremely hungry! This piece as it is sounds just fine, but I would love to hear what you would do with a guitar track. Fantastic job Sir. Cheers, Thom

I just happened to be 'plugged in' when I heard this piece, so did a quick and dirty take. Enjoy. James

Realy good chorus over the song James Honnestly, a bit of guitar over a song, just adds an extra dimension to a song. See what I ment Thom ? k

I was sitting out on a veranda eating french bean soup.... Actually, In Paris... that would be 'onion-soup' and you would wake up running to a toilet About the song... nice going. Wouldn't have guessed this is a 15 year old workstation. Pitty though GEM isn't making things like that anymore. Glad to see you're still playing those keys Kara ! Moon

Moon, The GEM is a sample based workstation where you can use your proper samples. So, it's normal that you didn't reconize the sound as most samples come from my Roland expander It's amazing how good those workstations sound with a minimum of memory to squeeze your samples in k

Good one Wyatt ! I immediatly reconized your style What is a real joy here is, when you put up a simple tune in a pretty standard Am progression, other musicians immediatly reconize it and play on top of it Isn't this a great forum ? k haha..I knew this one would be popular.. Wyatt
