Well, this little honey is infinitely more interesting to me than the sound module,as it has a unique blend of features, all encased in a snazzy vessel!

This synth reminds me of my Alesis Ion,in terms of build quality, sound quality & a nice & simple layout. Smiley
Of course though, this beauty has considerably more to offer than the Ion & while the price is a bit high,it's not astronomical and because of it's unique combo of ingredients,it is somewhat reasonable in cost.

Virtual analog, wavetable & sample based oscillators
1000 programs
25 voice polyphony
16 part multi-timbral
16 step arpeggiator
60MB of sample memory

Metal casing with stainless steel knobs

Waldorf is doing a very good job here. They have found a way to position them between the expensive harware synths like Access and cheaper software synth. When you want to play music, you'll need keys, so here's come the keyboard called Blofeld. I like this package and I'm very curious how much this one will cost (any idea ?).

There's something wrong with the exchange rate: at the exchange rate, 599 eruo is $875, so I'm hoping the $1499 is the price of the Kurzweil ?

I'm still saving to get me the Virus TI though and a second hand Nord G2X... so a blofeld in my studio will not be for the short term. I'm  still waiting to see the Stromberg from Waldorf. Lately it has been rather quiet about this one...

Moon,

I'll have to verify the price on the Blofeld...I'm probably wrong about it....my brain is bogged down with too many prices...I think my mind may crash at some point! Grin

Moon,

Zzounds.com sells the Blofeld 49 key for $1,499.95(USD)

Proaudio.zicos.com lists it as 649 euro.

Dolphin Music lists it as 599 euro

I really have no clue about what to say in regard to the exchange rate. Huh

The prices may just be all preliminary at this point though...no way to confirm or disconfirm the street price at this point I guess. Undecided

Looks to me like some shops on the US continent will make a lot of money selling the Blofeld 49 keys... Well, let's hope this is all prelimenary and hope this one won't be that expensive.

What's a very interesting difference with the Blofeld module version is that this one will also have some sample RAM. Waldorf are really doing great with the Blofeld, it's one very interesting little module and at a price point that's hard to resist. The keyboard version is more expensive but then it does have that sample RAM and it's a neat package. In any case, good to see Waldorf back. I'm very curious though to the next flagship synth they're developing - the Stromberg...

That's because the firmare needs updates  Sad
Still, good to see that Waldorf is working hard to solve the firmware issues. I think the Blofeld is a fantastic synth considering its price tag and being a hardware synth lover, I would prefer this litle beast over any softsynth.

Did anyone already tried this thing out (I mean the desktop version...) ?
